SEMINAR OF THE MILES PROJECT:
FREE SOFTWARE, GEOINFORMATICS AND
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS AT THE LOCAL LEVEL

MILES
project aims at improving the environmental condition in Sri Lanka
municipalities. It promotes a technology transfer in the areas of
urban environmental management information systems with a strong
focus on capacity building and training.
Within
this context, the objective of this virtual seminar is to facilitate
the international exchange of lessons of experience on innovative
environmental management information systems through a moderated
Internet discussion during the second year of the project. The
virtual seminar will have a duration of four weeks, in which
attendees will have the opportunity to discuss about carefully
selected and prepared themes based on practical project experiences.
